Encouraging communities and developing schools improves living conditions in Laos

Bank4Hope's affiliate Fida International has integrated two more development projects to Bank4Hope system. This means that people who give through Bank4Hope and Fida can also help people who live in Laos. Fida has now total of six projects from five countries integrated to Bank4Hope. The Community Encouragement Programme seeks to establish successful community development programmes in the Songkhone district in Savannakhet Province. The idea is to encourage and train the local communities to take charge of their own development.

Encouraging the communities and developing agriculture in Laos

The Community Encouragement Programme seeks to establish successful community development programmes in the Songkhone district in Savannakhet Province. The idea is to encourage and train the local communities to take charge of their own development.

High school development programme in Laos

The High School Development Programme aims to improve learning conditions in five high schools in Songkhone district in the Savannakhet Province. The quality of education in Lao high schools is very low and the schools lack resources. To improve the situation, this programme was started in one pilot high school in Savannakhet. The results were excellent, and the programme has expanded.

Empowering Nepalese villages to fight against poverty

Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world. Majority of the people live in rural areas, below the poverty line and without health services. The "Holistic Community Development Programme" is planned to uplift Nepali communities to help themselves to develop holistically.

Helping the victims of human trafficking in Albania

The target of this project is reduced human trafficking, and commitment of the Albanian society to care for vulnerable people groups. Since 2007, the project's target group has been vulnerable women, victims of human trafficking, prisoners and their children. In future the project will be also helping drug addicts.

Education and opportunities for people with disabilities in Vietnam

The programme in Vietnam contributes towards improved quality of education for children and youth with disabilities, with the emphasis on inclusive education. Also the livelihood opportunities of youth with disabilities are supported through providing vocational training and supporting to find employment. Main target groups of the programme are teachers of the schools and parents of children with disabilities.

Programme expecs to reach the following purposes: to help partner orgnisation and its institutions to implement their Disability Policy Tanzania-wide; and enhanced sustainability of community based rehabilitation service provision for children with disabilities in Tanga Region.
